We change our menu every day based on what's fresh, and best available from our suppliers. Yes, our menu is small, but we are rather pleased about that. We tend to offer a choice of 3 starters, 4-6 mains and 4-5 deserts daily. 

We always include a vegetarian option and a fish dish, which can vary widely depending on what takes our fancy. 

Our fish supplier sources fresh fish on a daily basis from local day boat fisherman in Newhaven, Hastings and the Kent coast as well as Suffolk and Norfolk, this offers us access to a great variety of fresh fish and seafood.  

Meat wise, each year we rear Berkshire pigs and Wagyu cattle here in the village. These high welfare, locally raised animals have been a huge highlight recently on our menu.

When we get the opportunity we love to offer local birds on the menu such as pigeon, pheasant or partridge, depending on the season. 

Our food isn't always sourced locally, but it is always the best that we can source in terms of quality and sustainability. 

The kitchen is open all day: 
12-9pm Monday-Thursday, 12-10pm Friday & Saturday & 12-8pm on Sundays. Please note that between 3-5pm Monday-Friday the kitchen is open, but for tapas only. 


We just love Sundays. Lazy lunches, newspapers that have a section for everyone, and a garden (or 2) to entertain the kids/dog.

Our Sunday menu consists of a choice of roasts (3-4 in winter & 2-3 in summer), a fresh fish dish and a vegetarian option. Tapas is also available. Prices range from £15 upwards for our Sunday Roasts. Please note that our kitchen is open 12-8pm on Sundays.

Children's portions

We do offer smaller portion of any of the roasts for children, these include all the trimmings, Yorkshire pudds, roast potatoes, vegetables & jus. Our tapas is very child friendly, the chips, sausage rolls, fish gujons, hummous & pitta and continental meat board go down a storm with our younger diners.

Our menu at the Green Man may be small, but it is seasonal, daily changing, and contains lots to get excited about. All of our dishes are cooked to order and the menu changes everyday to fit in what we can source from our suppliers. 

Our aim is to deliver truly great British pub food. Good, honest ingredients, executed well, to create a menu worth talking about, and returning for.



We are known for our variety and high standard of real ales, but that's not all we're pouring.  We also have Sommersby cider & Holsten Vier lager on tap. 

If beer is not your thing... we have a small but well thought out wine list, so there is something to suit any whim or fancy.
